Founding Artistic Director
Erika R. Walton is a triple threat performing artist, director, playwright, songwriter, choreographer, educator, mentor and community leader in Houston, TX. Erika’s life mission is to Encourage, Empower and Inspire youth and adults to reach their highest potential through the performing arts.
20 years performing experience, 15 years of studio recording experience, 10 years in arts education training hundreds of students and adults, serving as a :Voice Instructor, Music Teacher, Play Director, Music Director, Choir Director and Fine Art Director, Erika founded Legacy Theatre Company to provide professional, yet affordable, performing arts training to underserved communities. Legacy provides a platform for emerging artist to grow and a safe space for people to explore, discover and release their creative voice. Erika developed a touring performing arts camp for children, providing a day in the arts with Music, Dance, Acting and Art classes.
While in education, Erika built a Fine Art program that offers elementary and middle school students: choir, piano, theatre, musical theatre, playwriting, stage management and costume/set design. She partnered with Music Doing Good, Ollington Field, The African American Library at the Gregory School, TSU Theatre, Golden Age Hobby House, The Bank of America Center Downtown, Somos Niños, international acapella group Voces 8 and other community organizations to develop cultural programming and performance opportunities for inner city youth

In 2014, her play “The Color of Pain” was selected in the Scriptwriters of Houston 10x10 playwriting festival. January 2016, she directed “Anxiety” by: Pat Crews in the Fade To Black Reading Series. Some of her other directing credits include: The African Talking Drum, The Wiz, Creole Folktales, Natasha’s Eyes, Inner City Blues and Ms. Truth’s Time Machine. Some of her acting credits include: The Wiz , Chicago , The Lion, the With and the Wardrobe, The Colored Museum, Our lady of 121st Street, Fortunes of the Moor, Longtime Since Yesterday, The Story and Where Were You In 65?. She has stage managed: The Piano Lesson, The Colored Museum and Family. Erika also co-produced, wrote/performed songs on the album “Out Of The Fire” with her cousin, Ferrell Fellows, in 2012.
Erika is President of the TSU Ollington Smith University Players Alumni Association, a member of Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, Inc. and Production Director for Strong Legacy Group. She is currently touring her Turbo Camp-An educational, fun and energetic performing arts workshop for kids and teaches private Voice, Piano and Acting in Houston, TX.
